Exams are given at various
times at different locations around the state of Iowa.
The following schedule reflects
only the testing conducted by the Bureau of EMS. Candidates who wish to
participate with either the practical or written testing must work through their
sponsoring training program to get scheduled. First Responder and EMT-Basic
candidates need to use the Community College Testing Center services for the
written examination.

All of the testing sites listed above are open only to students completing an
Iowa approved program or the endorsement process for Iowa. All
Intermediate, Paramedic, and Paramedic Specialist level students wishing to
complete either the practical or written examination must make arrangements at
least 4-6 weeks in advance. This would also include any retest attempts.
Arrangements must be made with the training program if the student wishes to
test for the practical examination. Each attempt at the written
examination must include a completed NREMT application form and appropriate
testing/certification fees. Attempts at the written examination needs to
be coordinated with the appropriate testing site (training program) and the
Education Coordinator with the Bureau of EMS. At no time will an
individual be allowed to complete any part of the examination process on an
unscheduled "walk-in" basis. |
